When trying to move to Boston for the first time, it’s important to choose a neighborhood that fits your style and needs. Whether it’s to start a new job, continue your education, or to embark on a new adventure, Boston is a great city with plenty of communities to choose from.
There’s no neighborhood as desirable for recent grads and 20 somethings as South Boston. A quick commute into downtown Boston and an abundance of local restaurants, bars, and activities makes it a great choice for young professionals.
Southie is an ideal neighborhood for a young crowd who subscribes to the work hard, play hard mentality. And for those who love to get outside, the beautiful Castle Island provides a natural respite that is rare for city living. It’s a great place for long walks, a bike ride, or to see the sunset over the water. In the summer months, check out the M Street beach for waterside frolicking and sandy picnics.

With the green line weaving through most of the neighborhood, you will always have a quick commute to school or work, and the many restaurants, bars, and coffee shops will keep you entertained on the weekends.
Be sure to check out the Brighton Music Hall for a concert and explore the different thrift stores and cultural grocers that make Allston/Brighton such a fun place to live.

Filled with students from Harvard and MIT, Cambridge is known to be a hotspot for those seeking to improve their minds. Open guest lectures, art exhibits, and cultural events are just some of the things a Cambridge resident can expect to learn is happening just around the corner regularly.
Visit the Harvard museum of Natural History to travel back in time or head over to the American Repertory Theater to see an award-winning musical. Then visit one of the many Cambridge food staples for a snack, like Veggie Galaxy or Luce.

Seeped in history and culture, the North End is a tight community that celebrates all things Italian and American Revolution. It’s where Paul Revere took his famous midnight ride, and it now teems with tourists exploring the Freedom Trail, a walk that educates visitors on the Revolutionary War. The seemingly never-ending supply of food, baked goods, and coffee shops also makes the North End the best place for foodies in Boston.
Sample a cannoli from Mike’s Pastry before taking a walk down to Columbus Park to watch the boats in the harbor, and then get ready to celebrate one of the many Italian feasts and processions that happens on Hanover Street throughout the year.
